We are Assembly of God missionaries to Costa Rica and we serve as directors of Camp Summit. We also serve as assistants
to the Royal Rangers International coordinator of Latin America & Carribean region. Camp Summit (Campamento La Cumbre)
is nestled in the jungles of north central Costa Rica. The camp is an international, evangelistic, discipleship and leadership
training facility for men and boys, specifically for Royal Rangers. We also develop new ministries at Camp Summit to make
an impact on the 87 million unsaved boys in Latin America. For information on a trip to Campamento La Cumbre email jeff.cooper@agmd.org. Here are some examples of how we reach people in Latin America:
Dad & Lad camps
We like to help the Dads in Latin America build a strong healthy relationship with there sons. We host camps and invite
every Dad who wants to bring his son for a weekend camp and offer material to them on how to continue their efforts in being
the father we are supposed to be to our children. We are witnesses by example at these camp outs and the material we have
available directs them toward Christ for the answers they are looking for.
Mochila Madness
Mochila Madness is a minsitry that provides a backpack filled with Christmas gifts to a child that wouldn't
normally get a gift. These backpacks are bought and filled with gifts by the Royal Rangers USA, then sent to Royal Rangers
International to be shipped to missionaries for delivery to the children in need.
Ministries to
orphans in Latin America
We host groups of orphans and allow them to enjoy all the
fun activities at the camp. We have learning centers set up for hands on, fun learning. They are fed 3 meals a day and at
night they are fed the Bread of life! We will introduce them to our savior Jesus Christ, so they may chose life. At the end
of the week we have a baptism in the river for those who have accepted Christ.
Boot
Camps
We host "boot camp" type camps called "Una Vida Militar"
for the Latin American Childcare schools in Costa Rica. This camp influences the kids to live the christian life according
to 2 Timothy 2:4. LACC has done a great job at creating and running this camp. We are thrilled to be a part of it.
Jungle ministry
There
are places in Central America that have never heard the name of Jesus. They are not easily accessible; therefore they get
very little attention. We are putting a team together to travel into these areas by backpacking or canoeing, and hope to build
relationships with them so that we can tell them about Jesus.
Extreme
Ministries
We are developing a ministry called EX2 and it
will be designed to include the wildest most extreme activities we can put together. Such as backpacking through miles of
jungle and rain forest, rappelling off water falls, zip lining the canopy of the rain forest etc. We also want to give them
an opportunity to do missions work during the process. It will change what they think they know of culture and world view.
We want to invite boys from all over the Americas who are involved in Royal Rangers to participate.
