Camp Summit is located in north central Costa Rica, Central America. It takes a little under 2 hours to drive there from
San José, the capitol. It is an 80-acre camp covered by tropical trees inhabited by various exotic birds, such as toucans.
A river runs down one side of the property. This pristine piece of land is located 20 minutes from the nearest town, Puerto
Viejo de Sarapiquí.
It is called Camp Summit because we believe God calls and empowers Christian
men to live their lives from victory to victory, or summit to summit. But far too many have been in the valleys and shadows
so long they have lost all hope. They are deceived into believing that this is as high a level as they could aspire to live
on. We are unwilling to let men & boys settle for mediocrity. Camp Summit is where thousands of men & boys learn the
discipline and exhilaration of reaching spiritual summits.
Camp Summit is serving 19 Latin American and
Caribbean countries as the international Royal Rangers Training Center. Since '97 when the property was purchased, many
life-changing events have been held at the camp. Several "first-ever" activities have been launched from the camp
which are being duplicated in countries throughout the region. Missionary survival training and men's ministries discipleship
activities are also being conducted at the camp. As a result, the lives of men & boys are being impacted for eternity.
Camp Summit has exceeded expectations in ministry. A variety of ministries have been developed there: ministry to
orphans, LACC (Latin American Childcare), Father/Son camps, Royal Rangers and survival training for missionaries. Pastors
and churches from Costa Rica enjoy the camp for a variety of activities. Royal Rangers enjoy the camp for training and for
their national camps. Camp Summit has been the location of family camps as well. Entire families have been brought closer
by activities and workshops planned and organized by the staff. Camp Summit also successfully completed its first missions
project in 2007 by completing the first Gold level Pathfinder trip to the jungles of Costa Rica to build a church for the
Cabecar Indigenous group.
The experience has been that when construction or ministry teams come
to be a blessing to Latin America they go home blessed. It is an experience you will not forget. God has changed many lives
from all around the world. The camp has not only ministered to Latin Americans and North Americans, but has had visitors from
Canada, Europe and Asia as well. If you’d like to be a part of this ministry, don’t hesitate to join the forces
by leaving your mark at Camp Summit.
